McQuade Law Auditorium to be dedicated Sept. 10
September 7th, 2012 by Meghan CunninghamIn recognition of a generous donation by Judge Richard McQuade and his wife, Jane McQuade, the recently renovated Law Center Auditorium will be named in their honor.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication for the Richard & Jane McQuade Law Auditorium will take place 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10.
“The Law Center Auditorium is the face of the law school and the site of our most important events,” said Daniel J. Steinbock, dean of the College of Law. “This renovation will showcase the law school and the entire University.”
The McQuades’ recent gift includes funding for UT’s Athletic Department and is only the latest in the couple’s long history of philanthropy and service to The University of Toledo.
Judge McQuade is a 1965 graduate of the UT College of Law and served as a University trustee, and Jane McQuade is a member of UT’s Women & Philanthropy Committee.
Past gifts by the pair have funded the McQuade Courtroom, a teaching courtroom used by the Paralegal Studies Program in the Judith Herb College of Education, Health Science andHuman Service.
Jane McQuade also created the Interview Suit Award to provide four UT law students who might not otherwise have the means with a tailored suit as they interview for employment.
