UT to host youth baseball prospect, skills camps

The University of Toledo invites baseball players from northwest Ohio to improve their skills during spring training camps with the Rockets coaching staff.

Toledo Rockets Head Coach Cory Mee and his staff will host on Sunday, Feb. 12 in the Fetterman Training Center a Prospect Camp for athletes in grades 7-12 and a Youth Skills Camp for ball players in grades kindergarten through six.

The Prospect Camp will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 in which the athletes will go through a professional style workout and fundamental work for offense and defense. The cost is $100.

The Youth Skills Camp from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. is designed to provide individual instruction in all aspects of the game, including offensive and defensive drills and base running. Enrollment is limited and cost is $$60.

“This is the time of the year for athletes to prepare for the baseball season and UT coaches are here to help ball players be their best,” said Brett Merritt with the Rockets Baseball coaching staff. “These camps give young athletes the opportunity to train at a college facility and learn from the UT coaching staff.”
